It is actually a range of mountains with 11 peaks at more than 7000 meters each. Istor-o-Nal is reported to be 7403 m or 7398 m. Istor-o-Nal is in Chitral, Pakistan. It is located behind Terichmir, which is the highest mountain in the Hindu Kush.
Because Istor-o-Nal is located behind the higher peak of Tirich Mir, it is not easily visible and therefore is not well known.
The word "Istoro Nal" means horseshoe in the Khowar language. Istor means "horse". Nobody knows why it has that name.
